According to Chris…

“I can’t be the only one who has gone through this.”

That single thought was enough to persuade me to create a sacred platform for me to share my experiences. This space, that was initially just for me and my healing, has been transformed into a safe space for others to be free in their truth as they realize they are not alone.

Disclaimer: If you are expecting perfection or if you want to read about the perfect Christian life with no mistakes, missteps, or mess ups, this is not the blog for you. This blog allows me to share some of my life’s highs and lows, and you’ll be able to see how God is guiding me to healing and wholeness.

Reading this blog will feel like a chit chat with your good homegirl while sipping a glass of red wine, warm cider, or iced coffee…a little bit of laughter, a few tears, a come-to-Jesus meeting, and a hug all in one. Just be prepared for me to be your new bestie! This is a safe space, and I pray that by the time you exit this browser, your life is changed for the better.

I love you with my whole heart, and I mean it!

About Me

Who is Chris?

I am a storytellHER

To know me is to know that I am a jumbled collection of feelings, experiences, logic, wisdom, love, laughter, privacy, and transparency. I am an introverted expressionist who sometimes uses made up words despite being a sucker for good grammar.

Im an lover of life, love, and laugher…heavy on the laughter. Let me warn you, I am a Jesus lover and follower, and I’m a church girl through and through. That stated, I am not afraid to bring God into any conversation including these blogs. I say what I mean, I mean what I say, and I’m not afraid to repeat it (perks of being in my thirties).

Hopefully my mistakes, triumphs, and healing journey can inspire you.

Sharing my story. Changing a life.

  • Simplify

I just deleted four paragraphs. What I just typed was beautiful, but it completely negated the central theme and most important message of this blog, so I deleted. And no, I don’t feel any kind of way about it at all. #kanyeshrug One word has resonated in my spirit on repeat for the last two […]

  • Slowing Down and Seeing

Addressing the elephant in the room:  I haven’t blogged since March.  (I may blog later about why I haven’t blogged.)  Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, we can move forward.  *smile* In an exchange of text messages with a friend last night, he asked me what is my favorite hymn and why.  […]

  • Adulting: I Don’t Feel Like It

Addition, subtraction, steering, and makeup application…  My morning drive is usually a test to see how well I can multi-task (don’t judge me), but now we’re adding math in the mix too, Chris?  My brain crunched numbers trying to figure out how many miles on average I drive per day and week therefore configuring how […]

  • Late, But On Time

A few things: I may have written something along the lines of this topic some years ago.  You should keep reading anyway.  I will probably get straight to the point today because I’m not sure how to stretch out these words nor do I wish to say more than I need to say.  You should […]
