I don’t have anything deep or super wise to post today. I am just extra excited and inspired! Today’s post is mainly inspired by my sister, Tonya Rouson. 

Anyone who knows me, as I mentioned in my “Meet the Blogger” section, knows that I can see the DIY potential in ANYTHING! Furthermore, in my head, there isn’t anything that I can’t do. When I wanted to know how to braid hair, I watched a YouTube video and practiced on myself. (Now I charge $120 for it). When I wanted to know how to do sew-ins, I watched a YouTube video and practiced on myself. (Now I charge $55 for it). When I wanted to learn how to do invisible parts, a full set of acrylic nails, how to sew a flag, how to revamp an ordinary t-shirt, (and the list goes on) I did whatever it took to learn how to do it, and tried it! Then I tried again and again and again until I got better and could charge someone else for it! (And if you didn’t catch my drift, I charge for all of those services now!) 😉

The other day, while in conversation with my sister, she mentioned how I have taken the hair and nail hustle and our sister Nadia has the pedicure hustle, and she needed one too so we could be a one-stop-shop. She mentioned that she wanted to try her hand at threading eyebrows but she didn’t know how. You know what my advice was…YOUTUBE!!! Well, shortening an already long story, she sent me a picture THE NEXT DAY of her work! She had learned how to thread eyebrows and had gained clients in ONE DAY!!!!!!! And it didn’t look janky as if she was beginner! She has a gift! [See the picture attached.]

THE MORAL OF THE STORY:

The only thing that is standing in the way of you doing what you want to do is YOU! So you don’t know how to do it yet? LEARN! So you have never done it yet? TRY! Have you not seen from my examples that YouTube is the hub of all things DIY? And if you can’t learn it online, ask someone who already knows how to do the thing you want to do.

God has given you that curiosity that makes you want to learn and try new things. Along with that He has given you the ability to learn how to do those things. YOU HAVE NO EXCUSE! What is it that you want to do: sing, dance, sew, make jewelry, style hair, do nails, do make-up, repair cars, build furniture, learn to play the keyboard, learn to play the drums, bake, inspire others…??? You can learn how to do it online, by talking to someone who can, by asking the Lord to give you the gift, and through YOUTUBE! (I LOVE YouTube). 🙂 I already told you in “Make your Passion Your Profession” that you can take what you like to do and make it what you just “do.” This thing that you are dragging your feet about doing, just may be your golden ticket!

I did it! Tonya did it! You can do it too!!!
